Affiliate marketing is a great way to earn money online because you don’t have to spend ages and ages creating a product and you don’t need to spend any money to get started.
The major problem, though, is that 97% of people who try and make money with internet marketing fail – and that’s because they don’t take the time to learn the necessary skills.
Here’s the thing: This whole internet marketing thing isn’t something that will make you rich overnight (despite the claims on the latest greatest make money online product), however it gives a definite opportunity for anyone to make a decent income online as long as they follow tried and tested proven strategies.
And, as my good friend Shane says, chasing the quick buck is the fastest way to fail. It requires a little bit of patience and dedication, but the end result is absolutely worthwhile – travel anywhere, look after your family, create an income above many times more than what’s possible working for somebody else. The bottom line is – internet marketing marketing gives you freedom.
Making money online is similar to a car in that if one component is missing or broken, then the whole thing doesn’t work. If you get the whole 6 step process right then you’ll always be able to generate an income and turn a profit.
These are the fundamentals to your first successful campaign!
I should just say that the method I describe in this video isn’t the ONLY way of making money with affiliate marketing…
For instance, a lot of people are making money by using Pay Per Click traffic and driving that traffic to what’s known as CPA offers.
However, the method we talk about is good because there is little to no risk – the only thing you’ll ever lose is your time.
If you start looking at the more advanced internet marketing strategies where you’re paying for traffic, then you can quite easily lose your shirt if you don’t know what you’re doing.
The best way is to start making money through affiliate commissions with free traffic and then, when you’re more comfortable with targeting, demographics, psychographics and so forth, you can look at paid traffic methods.
This is a great way to earn money – you just need to take a bit of time to learn the skills.
The six step process I outline in this video is shown below:-
1. Find a group of people (a niche) who have a problem that they’ll pay to have a solution to.
2. Build a web site in that niche
3. Capture the names and email addresses of visitors to your page (build your list)
4. Provide genuine value to your subscribers so that they realise that you’re not just out to make a quick buck from them!
5. Promote affiliate offers through email marketing
6. Drive more and more traffic to your web site.

Affiliate marketing is a business promotion technique in which revenue is shared between a website owner and an online business. It is an Internet-based marketing technique through which e-commerce affiliates are rewarded for bringing in customers.

History of Affiliate Marketing
Affiliate marketing originated from the practice of revenue sharing in which business revenue is shared between business affiliates. In late 1994, the concept of revenue sharing evolved into Internet affiliate marketing .
CDNOW was the first website to feature affiliate marketing. It was a music-oriented website that provided the Internet users with facilities to view lists of music videos and albums and also purchase the albums online. Soon, the e-commerce websites became a vital component of Internet marketing.
Web 2.0 services such as social networking, blogging and video sharing gave a further boost to the affiliate marketing industry. Gambling and retail industries were some of the prominent players in this field. The cell phones business, finance sector and the tourism industry are expected to reap the maximum benefits from affiliate marketing in the coming years.
Types of Affiliate Marketing
Affiliate marketing refers to the practice of business sharing between online businesses and online sales people. The percentage of the profits shared, depends on the amount of sales and the number of website hits. Pay-Per-Lead: In this form of affiliate marketing, whenever a client registers at a merchant’s website as a result of an advertisement on the affiliate’s website, a stipulated amount of money is given to the affiliate.
Pay-Per-Sale: In this method of affiliate marketing, for every sale resulting from the advertisements featured on an affiliate’s website, a share of the profit is given to the affiliate.
Business Promotion through Websites: Many websites offer reward-based purchase offers. They offer discounts and rebates to the customers who choose to buy online. Some of them offer free delivery services to the customers. Others feature product reviews and articles about products and services, thereby encouraging the readers to buy them. Some businesses prefer to use personal websites to communicate with their potential customers. Personal websites, have in fact, been a major contributing factor to the emergence of affiliate marketing.

Once you have determined that the product is in reasonably high demand, you will want to determine who your target customers are. In other words; what category does your client base fall in? Are they male or female, teens, middle-aged or elderly? What Country, State or City does your client base live in? Determining your target clients and focusing on them exclusively will save you alot of time and money!
Now we all like the fact that affiliate marketing many times does not require you to create a website, but it is certainly a plus to do so.
